India Google Impact Challenge Winners for 2013 Announced


Google Impact Challenge voting is now over and the deserving winners of $500,000 each are announced.

The theme of this challenge was How would you use technology to improve your community and the world?

3 Winners selected by Judges

Agastya runs the Largest Hands-On Science Program in the World! (learn more about agastya)

Digital Green helps farmers share best practices within their communities (learn more about digital green)

Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship & Democracy Improving the quality of life in urban india (learn more about janaagraha)

One Winner selected by Public

Social Awareness, Newer Alternatives works to protect and empower the marginalized section of society, working particularly in rural and urban India. (learn more about sana)

10 deserving finalists were shortlisted and later judges selected 4 winners who will receive $500,000. Since the projects were so impressive, Google went out-of-the-way and surprised everyone by investing, seed funding $250,000 each of the remaining 6 finalists.
