Are you an Google+ iphone mobile user? Then you got great news today – A new iphone app update version 1.0.4.2326 has been released with quite few new features and updates.

Here is a list of new features, updates, performance improvements and bug fixes as part of this release

• Most popular feature google+ hangouts has been added to the iphone app. Now when someone starts an hangout and invites you, you’ll be able to the join hangouts right from the incoming stream
• Group messaging know as Huddle in previous version of mobile apps is now being renamed to Messenger (So don’t be surprised if messenger is altogether a new feature)
• Send photos in Messenger
• +1 on comments
• Reliability improvements in Messenger
• Granular push notification settings
• Map view in profile for places you’ve lived
• Improved +mention support
• Share a post with individuals
• Improved public search for people
• Various bug and performance improvements

Google+ iphone app can be installed  or updated directly from iphone app store app or using iTunes from app store

Similar changes are rolled out for Google+ android app as well. Now you can join hangouts right from your android app and huddle has been renamed as messenger.

One key point to note : To join or use google+ hangouts on your mobile phone, your phone must have a front facing camera (else you’ll get a error message saying Hangouts require a front facing camera)
