If you would have already tried Google+ hangouts with extras you might have used (or came across) google docs right within google+ hangouts

As the features gets more stable and popular among g+ users they make it into the mainstream of the product. gdocs is the latest feature that has graduated and integrated as part of the main product (google+ hangouts)
To use the gdocs feature, just click on the Docs button on top of the hangouts window
