Google’s Platform As A service (PAAS) App Engine Logo (i.e the infamous flight engine also known as shark like logo called Sharkon) gets a logo makeover and replaced with a set of new cloud platform logo’s.

With Google App Engine’s (GAE) rapid growth over the last 5 years, they have introduced many complimentary features, tools and services in order to make this platform more attractive. To name a few are: Compute Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, support for Multiple Languages (Java, Python, Go, PHP, etc).

With these new services and growing number of features, Google renamed the whole platform as Google Cloud Platform with a brand new and colorful hexagon as its cloud platform logo. And obviously each of features, tools and services now are represented with an icon like smaller logo that represents the building blocks of Google’s Cloud Platform (refer image below).

As highlighted below, Google App Engine (GAE) is now part of cloud platform with a simple, minimalist and flat version of the flight engine (or shark a.k.a sharkon) logo.
