Festivus: It’s a well celebrated parody and later become a secular holiday celebrated on December 23rd which serves as an alternative to participating in the pressures and commercialism of the christmas and holiday season – according to wikipedia.

Google normally does easter eggs for marking specific events like these mostly on that specific date. In this case of Festivus, the easter egg has appeared long before than the  anticipated date of December 23rd.
